So I thought in light of the storms this past weekend, that I would spice up the blog appearance. This past Sunday we kicked off our Famine push which we're holding at the end of April. Check below for more info on this powerful experience. More info will be given to the teens this Sunday night, and info will be in next week's Parent Email.

Three things to make note of:
1) Our Volunteer Team has been working on our creating our Youth Ministry purpose statement, which you will see below the title of the page. It connects to our theme verse found in Colossians 1:28-29. We will eventually spend time teaching the group what the purpose statement means and opening up a contest for the teens to design a Youth Group logo and/or name based on our purpose statement.
2) Please visit the link on the right hand side of this page to see the schedule for the summer. More info will come in the form of a brochure, but in the meantime, mark your calendars and shoot me any questions you have.
3) Please answer the survey question on the right about the date of our next Parent Meeting.

Yes, it's that time of year again...Peanut butter, coconut, mint and butter cream filling covered in chocolate...Yum yum yum! Please encourage your teens to help us make and especially SELL these treats as the proceeds go to support our summer service trip. Even if your child is not going this summer, we could really use the support.

We're inviting all current 6th graders out for a night of fun, food and fellowship. This is our way of welcoming them in to the youth group by giving them a taste of what's in store when they join us this summer. We'll have games, snack and have an opportunity for them to interact with some of our Jr and Sr Highers.

30 Hour Famine :
Friday April 24-25, 6pm-6:30pm
*Teens should begin fasting after lunch on Friday*
This is an amazing and powerful experience that will leave a lasting impact. We are raising money and awareness for issues of poverty, hunger, child trafficking and more. Through games, activities, a service project and sleeping in a cardboard village, we are going without food to connect to the millions who suffer everyday.
* A meal served at 6pm Saturday will end our famine *
