45 teens were with us Sunday night for a very special look at the Last Supper. After eating a wonderfully prepared cook-out meal, we transitioned to a serious time of reflection. The environment was set with dim lights and candles as teens read aloud the story of each disciple being called by Christ. We lit a candle representing each one. Then we read through the scene of the Last Supper in the Upper Room before breaking bread and taking juice to celebrate communion.
Just as Jesus and His disciples finished their Passover meal, we concluded our time and turned to the events after that scene. We watched a clip from the powerful movie, THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST. *We did not watch any of the Good Friday torture scenes* The 30 minute clip followed His time in the Garden to His betrayal, to the wrongful accusations, ending with Peter's denial. As the movie progressed, we extinguished each candle already lit, until there was just one, representing Christ.
We sat in silence after the emotional clip, before turning our attention to a powerful reminder that SUNDAY IS COMING! An inspirational video encouraged us to remember that although things looked hopeless on Friday, the hope of our faith rests on Easter Sunday when He rises again. Take time this week to reflect on the tremendous sacrifice He made and remember, that Sunday is coming.

This is an amazing and powerful experience that will leave a lasting impact. We are raising money and awareness for issues of poverty, hunger, child trafficking and more. Through games, activities, a service project and sleeping in a cardboard village, we are going without food to connect to the millions who suffer everyday.
* A meal served at 6pm Saturday will end our famine *
