And I thank God for the gift of not sleeping Friday night but rather piling on 14 games of bowling at our Jr High All Night Bowling! Jenna and I will be heading to Orlando, Florida from Monday December 7th through Saturday December 12th so we are both very happy for the upcoming rest and relaxation as we celebrate our 2 year anniversary and the upcoming addition to the family!
I imagine many families were away for the long weekend but we had a great group for SNL as we looked at favoritism and discrimination. We made a list of the ways people are favored or discriminated against (height, race, weight, personality, group of friends, intelligence, religion, athletic ability, money, job, what you clothes you wear, etc) and had a great discussion about how each teen had been victim and villian in the area of discrimination. We then watched the social experiment clip called "Shopping While Black" which you can watch yourself by clicking on this link. We finished our time by exploring God's truth in James 2:1-10 in which we are called to love everyone equally and not favor or discriminate. A powerful reminder to us all.
- There is no candy making tomorrow: We finished it up today and now we're encouraging your teens to sell! Sell! SELL! This Sunday is the order deadline and we will pack up the orders on December 13th for pick up.
- Deeper Bible Study starts up this Thursday from 6-8pm in the Youth Room. *Please note that dinner is no longer being provided as Alpha is no longer meeting. I will send an email out about whether we will meet Thursday the 10th due to my being on vacation.
- Dance Practice this Sunday 5:15-6:30pm in the gym

SNL is a great way to wrap up your weekend and kick start your school week with fun and fellowship that centers on God’s truth.

We’re going to visit a nearby neighborhood to sing Christmas carols and pass out cookies. Each teen is asked to bring a dozen cookies to pass out! This is a FAMILY EVENT so please join your teen for this great outreach. *Please email Justin if you're planning to come with! - December 20: Christmas Partay!
Our annual Christmas party always includes music, games, and food! Bring 2 wrapped gifts (under $5 each) for our Crazy Bingo game! - December 27: No SNL
Encounter, Sundays 10am-11am in the Youth Room
Connect everyday into the presence of Christ by exploring what it means to follow Him. We do this through small groups, video clips, discussion and reflection on Scripture. Small breakfast snacks provided.
Deeper Bible Study: Thursdays 6-8pm
Get deep into God’s Truth by studying it with others. We start a series looking at topics submitted by students, studying Scripture for truth to apply to our lives.
Outreach + Nativity Story, Dec 19th, 1-4:30pm
There’s no better way to celebrate God’s gift of Christ than by giving to others. This year we’re spending time with residents at Brereton Retirement center, playing games and building relationships with them. We’ll return to the church to watch THE NATIVITY STORY with hot chocolate and popcorn.
*We're looking for adults to help us with this event and ask teens to sign up for this.
New Year Lock In: Jan 1, 10pm-7am
It’s our third annual New Year Lock In and this is going to be the best one yet as we will be getting outside the church throughout the night for some extra fun activities like bowling!
