Something we talk about a lot is how busy we all are and how easy it is to put God to the side in all of our running around getting the "important" stuff done. During the next three months, your teens have more time on their hands but may face even more distractions than in the school year. The summer is the perfect time for them to focus on their relationship with Christ and develop that through Christian community. This Sunday we will be looking at the summer calendar in hopes that the youth ministry can provide opportunity and support for these two goals.2) Know others deeper
This Sunday we will also celebrate the confirmation and graduation classes; Each of whom are celebrating accomplishments, while recognizing the journey is not over. We will recognize them this Sunday at our second Souljourn service, praying for God's leading in their next steps ahead.
THIS WEEK:
- Breakfast @ Water Street: Saturday, 7-10am; Teens need to be at Grace by 7am. We will return by 10am for pick up at the church.
- Sunday Encounter: Sunday 10-11am, Celebration Breakfast
- BBQ Bash: Sunday 5:30-8:30pm: We're celebrating the end of the year by grilling out and playing games! The weather looks great for our night of fun and fellowship. *We are also doing something special for the seniors in our group!!*
- Graduation Recognition: Our high school and college graduates have worked hard and we'll recognize that with prayer and a gift.
- Confirmation Recognition: At the end of the second Souljourn service, the confirmation class will be recognized and prayed for.
- Breakfast at Water Street, This Saturday: Teens should arrive at the church by 7am as we are heading to Water Street Rescue Mission to serve and connect with people in our community in need of food and shelter. We'll be back to Grace by 10am.
- Graduation/Confirmation Sunday: Sunday May 31st we recognize our confirmation class of 2009 and all high school, college and other graduates.
- Encounter Breakfast, This Sunday! It marks our last Encounter for the school year and we'll do it with some good breakfast food as we look at the summer calendar.
- BBQ Bash: And to wrap up the day of celebrations, we are celebrating the end of the school year just a week early with barbeque and games. Special time is 5:30-8:30pm out in the corner field of the church.

- Youth Camp Registration: Visit Pocono Plateau's website for more details, including online registering. Youth Camp has been a staple of Grace Youth Group for years and this year will be no different. A $100 scholarship is available per child simply by asking me! Please register and pay for camp, let me know you want the scholarship, and I will send a check in your name via the mail.
- Creation Festival Sign Up: The largest Christian concert/camping experience in the country, this 5 day event is a MUST-DO at some point in your teen's life! (Not to mention you adults!) The remaining tickets cost $115 and can be purchased up until June 21st. Click here to visit the official Creation website.
- Philly Service Trip: There's sign up sheets for our trip at the bulletin boards. We are looking for ANYONE in 7th grade and beyond...which means we NEED some adults to come along! Encourage others to think about serving alongside our teens this summer and sign up today!
- Barnstormers: Please visit the bulletin boards at church to sign up you or your teen. We have a game coming up in June and have lots of spots to fill!
I'm working on getting summer calendars finalized and out to you all very soon. Still to be put on the calendars is our summer Bible study, special "field trips" and more. Until we get that finished, you can mark some of these dates for the start of June on your calendars:
June 7th = NO SNL
June 14th = The Start of Host Homes (Location still needed!)
June 15th = Man Gym (An open gym and small group time for guys on Mondays)
June 17th = Barnstormer Fundraiser
June 21st = Host Home at the Tremblays: 1023 Flagstone Court, Lancaster, PA
June 24-28th = Creation
