I want to wish all the mothers a very Happy (belated) Mother's Day! With how much you put up with from day to day, it seems an awfully insufficient to celebrate your sacrifice, love and care for just one day! My prayer is that you feel appreciated and loved by your family. God says in Proverbs 31, that a wife and mother who fears the Lord and takes care of her family is worth more than any earthly treasure. Thank you for all that you do and may God bless you all tremendously.

  • Thursday, Disciple: Dinner @ HOP(6-6:45pm) Gathering in Youth Room (7-8:30pm) This is our very last Disciple for the year.
  • Sunday Encounter: Sunday 10-11am
  • ONE WORSHIP, This Sunday, Special Time: 5:45-8:45pm! We are meeting at Grace at 5:45 and leaving NO LATER than 6pm for Lampeter Church of the Brethren for a night of worship, fellowship and encouragement. Pick up at Grace, 8:45pm.
  • Graduation information: If you have a high school or college graduate, we're recognizing them on Sunday May 31st. Email me their name, where they're graduating from, their plans for after graduation and any other special info you want included.
  • Creation Early Bird Deadline #2, Sunday: Tickets for this year's Creation Festival are $105, if paid by this Sunday. Otherwise, the price goes up to $115. See info below.

The Month of May...

  • Sunday Night Live: May 10 = No SNL, May 17 = One Worship (Special time 5:45-8:45pm) May 24 = Guy/Girl Night
  • One Worship Night: Sunday May 17th we have a special night at SNL as we travel to Lampeter Church of the Brethren for One Worship. We gather with 5 other youth groups for some awesome worship with Signs of Scarlet and talk about our mission in the schools for Christ. Special time: 5:45-8:45pm
  • Disciple: May 14th is our last Thursday meeting. We will continue to meet at House of Pizza (6-6:45pm) and then start Disciple at 7pm. We'll be welcoming Pastor John to lead our next two Thursdays as we look at the early church.
  • Youth Camp Registration: Visit Pocono Plateau's website for more details, including online registering. Youth Camp has been a staple of Grace Youth Group for years and this year will be no different. A $100 scholarship is available per child simply by asking me! Please register and pay for camp, let me know you want the scholarship, and I will send a check in your name via the mail.
  • Creation Festival Sign Up: The largest Christian concert/camping experience in the country, this 5 day event is a MUST-DO at some point in your teen's life! (Not to mention you adults!) To recieve an early bird discount, I need a check (written to "Grace UMC" with "Creation" in the memo line) for $105 by Sunday May 17th. The next price per ticket is $115.   • Breakfast at Water Street: Saturday May 30th we are serving breakfast at Water Street Rescue Mission, serving and connecting with people in our own community in need of food and shelter. We can only take 10 teens so they must sign up. We meet at Grace at 7am and will be back at 10am.
  • Graduation/Confirmation Sunday: Sunday May 31st we recognize our confirmation class of 2009 and all high school, college and other graduates.
  • Encounter Breakfast: Sunday May 31st also marks our last Sunday Encounter for the school year as we break for the summer months. We will be having a more relaxed time of fellowship and food from 10-11am.
  • BBQ Bash: And to wrap up the day of celebrations, we are celebrating the end of the school year just a week early with barbeque and games. Special time is 5:30-8:30pm out in the corner field of the church. *If weather is bad, we will have a normal SNL from 6:30-8:30 and the rain date for the Bash will be June 21st.
